Role Overview
We are looking for warm, reliable, and energetic Event Childcare Assistants to join our team for an upcoming community market activation this October.
In this role, you will help create a fun, safe, and structured pop-up play experience. You will engage directly with children across mixed age groups, assist with secure check-in/out procedures, and maintain our safety and aesthetic standards throughout the event.
Key Responsibilities
Child Engagement & Supervision: Facilitate engaging, age-appropriate activities (crafts, sensory play, games, storytelling) while maintaining continuous visual supervision and strict staff-to-child ratios.
Secure Check-In & Check-Out: Support our check-in station workflow, including verifying parent photo IDs, logging allergies/medical notes, applying tamper-evident security wristbands, and ensuring secure child release protocols.
Safety & Perimeter Monitoring: Monitor the event perimeter and entry/exit points to ensure children remain within the designated play lounge at all times.
Lounge Maintenance & Cleanliness: Assist with setup, light tidying during play, and post-event sanitization and pack-down of equipment and play kits.
Professional Communication: Provide welcoming, clear, and reassuring communication to parents and event organizers
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of documented professional childcare, early childhood education, or professional nanny experience.
Certifications: Current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification (American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or equivalent).
Background Check: Must pass a comprehensive background check (nationwide criminal and sex offender registry).
References: Ability to provide at least 2 professional supervisory childcare references.
Professional Demeanor: Warm, calm, articulate, and adaptable in dynamic event settings.
Availability: Available for scheduled shifts during our October market weekend(s) (Dates: [Insert Exact Dates/Hours]).
Compensation & Perks
Hourly Rate: $25/hr + tips
Guaranteed shift minimums.
